Travelling by plane
The capital Berlin has access to two airports (Berlin-Tegel and Schönefeld) with regularly scheduled arrivals and departures:

BERLIN TEGEL (TXL)

The Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL) is located approx. 10 km away from the city centre (Pariser Platz / Brandenburger Tor).

You can choose between the following options of public transportation to arrive at the airport:

  • Taxi: Either at the taxi stands, or specifically for minivan taxis by calling 0180 - DINOTAXI (34 66 82 94), estimated travel time: approx. 20 min. drive to city centre
  • Public Transport Buses: Direct airport shuttle via the Jakob-Kaiser-Platz subway station (U7) and the X9 and 109 bus lines. Estimated travel time: approx. 5 min.

 Direct airport shuttle via the Zoologischer Garten station with the X9 und 109 bus lines. Estimated travel time: between approx. 17 min. (X9) and 25 min (109).

  • Car Rental: The car rental desks are located at the car rental center on the P 2 parking lot. More detailed information on the locations of the rental desks can be found at:

Please make sure that you declare your bike or bike cases to the corresponding airline company when travelling by plane. In some instances, the airport can only be accessed via small planes, which would not allow you to fly in your bike.

BERLIN SCHÖNEFELD (SXF)

The Berlin Schönefeld Airport (SXF) is located approx. 22 km away from the city centre (Pariser Platz / Brandenburger Tor).

You can choose between the following options of public transportation to arrive at the airport:

  • Taxi
: Either at the taxi stands, or specifically for minivan taxis by calling 0180 - DINOTAXI (34 66 82 94), estimated travel time: approx. 40 min. drive to city centre
  • Public Transport Buses: Direct airport shuttle via the S- and Schönefeld Regional station (estimated travel time: approx. 2 min.) and via the Rudow subway station (U7) with the N 46 and 171 bus lines (estimated travel time: approx. 10 min)
  • Railway Connection : Direct Schönefeld regional station express via the Alexanderplatz station (RE 4 and RE 5), estimated travel time: approx 20 min.
